Red Oak is a light to medium brown color with reddish undertones. It’s coarse texture and large pores add a distinctive look to your various interior projects. It is straight-grained and machines well. It can be stained or polished to an excellent finish. These boards are surfaced-two-sides with square edges. Our hardwood isn’t a finished thickness (hit or miss) and may still require you to flatten, plane, shape or sand your boards to fit your project.

Kiln Dried

Kiln drying allows us to control the air flow, temperature and humidity so that the hardwood dries 6%-8% uniformly and can be finished to a smooth surface.

All lumber starts off rough. We surface two sides to a smooth surface so it’s easier and quicker for you to start on your project.

I got incredible value from these high-quality red oak hardwood boards. Have bought three board sets so far and will order more. Box arrived filled to the brim. All boards were about 1” thick, and were about 60” long. The red oak wood quality was impeccable, and every board fit great for my woodworking project. I have made some really awesome cutting boards out of these. I will repurchase for sure.

American Red Oak hardwood only naturally grows in North America. They grow mostly throughout eastern hardwood forests. Red Oak trees can grow higher or lower in altitude, giving them different characteristics based on location.
