Red Oak is a light to medium brown color with reddish undertones. It’s coarse texture and large pores add a distinctive look to your various interior projects. It is straight-grained and machines well. It can be stained or polished to an excellent finish. These boards are surfaced-two-sides with square edges. Our hardwood isn’t a finished thickness (hit or miss) and may still require you to flatten, plane, shape or sand your boards to fit your project.

Kiln Dried

Kiln drying allows us to control the air flow, temperature and humidity so that the hardwood dries 6%-8% uniformly and can be finished to a smooth surface.

Surfaced-2-Sides

All lumber starts off rough. We surface two sides to a smooth surface so it’s easier and quicker for you to start on your project.

Pleasing Patterns

To add character to your woodworking projects, you must choose lumber from Forest 2 Home. I ordered this Red Oak board set a few months ago to build a stool for one of my clients. Loved the texture and finish quality after I applied linseed oil and bees wax. Great packaging and lumber quality. Highly recommend their products to my woodworking friends.

Red Oak hardwood

American Red Oak hardwood only naturally grows in North America. They grow mostly throughout eastern hardwood forests. Red Oak trees can grow higher or lower in altitude, giving them different characteristics based on location.
