Cherry is known for its warmth and can add character to your various interior projects. It is straight-grained and machines well. It’s smooth texture makes for an excellent finish or stain. These boards are surfaced-two-sides with square edges. Our hardwood isn’t a finished thickness (hit or miss) and may still require you to flatten, plane, shape or sand your boards to fit your project.

This is the first time ordering from Forest so I wasn't sure what to expect. The boards were very well packaged and look great. My only complaint is that one of the boards was slightly bowed and one had a small twist. I'm hoping that I will still be able to get a full 3/4" after joining and planing.
First time ordering hardwood online, very pleasantly surprised. Price point & free shipping (ok know it's figured into price) hooked me into giving them a try. What a surprise, arrived quicker than expected, boards were to specifications in description. One board had a small damage from shipping, box was torn in that spot, blame UPS for that, but was able to use that one anyway. First time using maple wood, building a small drop leaf table. Very, very satisfied will be using Forest2 home in the future.
This is my first "sight unseen" lumber purchase so I was not sure what the quality would be since I did not pick the boards out myself. I can verify that the boards were of excellent quality - straight , beautiful color, and free of defects. True 15/16" x 4" boards that I can't wait to start to work with! I also appreciated a hand written note wishing me "Happy Woodworking!" on the inside of the box. That tells me there are people at Forest 2 Home that are passionate about providing excellent, sustainable wood to enjoy. I have found my new lumber store!
Great boards that came out of the box looking good. All but one were perfectly straight and went straight into planing, one had a very slight twist that was easy to shim and plane out. They come full dimensions - not nominal - which means you get more bang for your buck and can plane/rip them down to nominal if that's what you need. The full 4 inches wide enabled me to do a project that required more than 3-1/2 in square with the end scraps. I thought they looked good even just out of the box with a few scuffs and rugged parts, but once I planed them they really popped. Only the tiniest knots/voids in a few boards that you could barely fit a pencil in, nothing that had to be cut out and most boards had none. Finished them with a few wipes of tung oil and they go from a reddish blonde in the pictures to the rich red-brown you expect.
