Ambrosia Maple (Wormy Maple) 4/4
Ambrosia Maple, commonly referred to as Wormy Maple, is not a distinct species of Maple hardwood. The Ambrosia beetle causes the wormy pattern in Soft Maple lumber and the result is very unique looking hardwood. Our Ambrosia Maple is technically Red Maple (Soft Maple). This run of Ambrosia Maple is full of character and features a nice blend of bright white and gray tones, unique discoloration and distinctive grain pattern. Expect boards to have natural features such as knots, wane, pith, worm holes, rough edges, and/or splits. You will not receive boards with large holes or rot.
Select between a 10 board feet box and a 20 board feet box. Boxes are packed with boards that are surfaced-2-sides and come 4/4 (1 inch thick), range from 4 to 8 inches in width, and range from 1 to 6 feet in length. These boxes are packed based on board footage and not by board size. Our hardwood isn’t a finished thickness (hit or miss) and may still require you to flatten, plane, shape or sand your boards to fit your project.

This was my second bundle of 20 BF of ambrosia maple. The first bundle I would give a five star rating, good character and a variety of dimensions. The second bundle I was hoping to get a range of board widths and it was all 4 inches. The boards were of very good quality and character, just lacking in the one dimension.
Hi. I first want to thank Jathan for helping me in getting started since I am a newbie. The grain of the Ambrosia is very pleasing to the eye. The selection of the boards were very accommodating to my project. The boards were delivered as promised and seemed to be of good quality and very straight. Thank you.
Was apprehensive about the whole random boards footnote with this, but I stayed hopeful. Boards were fantastic and a great size size. I felt I had enough large and medium pieces here to work with and all with great patterns
