Add some spice to your project with Sassafras. We mean that quite literally-  Sassafras often gives off a spicy scent while being worked. This hardwood's grain has an Ash-like appearance and resembles Chestnut. The heartwood of Sassafras is pale to dark brown, but often golden in color, making this a great selection for both indoor and outdoor projects. Expect boards to have natural features such as knots, wane, pith, worm holes, rough edges, and/or splits. Select between a 10 board feet box and a 20 board feet box. Boxes are packed with boards that are surfaced-2-sides and come 1 inch thick, range from 3 to 10 inches in width, and range from 2 to 7 feet in length. These boxes are packed based on board footage and not by board size. Our hardwood isn’t a finished thickness (hit or miss) and may still require you to flatten, plane, shape or sand your boards to fit your project.
