Walnut is the darkest of the hardwoods and is known for its rich brown color. This hardwood adds an elegant look to your various interior projects. It is straight-grained and machines well. It has a medium texture and can be stained or polished to an excellent finish. These boards are surfaced-two-sides with square edges. Our hardwood isn’t a finished thickness (hit or miss) and may still require you to flatten, plane, shape or sand your boards to fit your project.

Kiln Dried

Kiln drying allows us to control the air flow, temperature and humidity so that the hardwood dries 6%-8% uniformly and can be finished to a smooth surface.

Surfaced-2-Sides

All lumber starts off rough. We surface two sides to a smooth surface so it’s easier and quicker for you to start on your project.

Very pleased with my first order from Forest2Home

Ordered the 6. Brd ft pack of walnut as well as a 6 brd pack of cherry, both in 1x6x24 as I make smaller items. Shipping was fast and very well packaged. Boards were all very straight and clear with exception of one board that had a slight amount of cupping that I can fix by jointing/planing. Both species had nice figuring. I would have been hard pressed to find better quality will definitely buy from Forest2Home again.

American Walnut trees grow in eastern mixed hardwood forests. They grow tall and straight. Walnut hardwood trees are also one of the least species planted and harvested out of all hardwood species.
