Walnut is the darkest of the hardwoods and is known for its rich brown color. This hardwood adds an elegant look to your various interior projects. It is straight-grained and machines well. It has a medium texture and can be stained or polished to an excellent finish. These boards are surfaced-two-sides with square edges. Our hardwood isn’t a finished thickness (hit or miss) and may still require you to flatten, plane, shape or sand your boards to fit your project.

Kiln Dried

Kiln drying allows us to control the air flow, temperature and humidity so that the hardwood dries 6%-8% uniformly and can be finished to a smooth surface.

All lumber starts off rough. We surface two sides to a smooth surface so it’s easier and quicker for you to start on your project.

Beautiful wood

I have just retired and now have time to do some fun times. I have been making bandsaw boxes for Christmas presents for or grandchildren. This walnut is beautiful and has been great to work with. The rich dark color is just what I needed to give me an alternative to use for the different bandsaw boxes.

American Walnut trees grow in eastern mixed hardwood forests. They grow tall and straight. Walnut hardwood trees are also one of the least species planted and harvested out of all hardwood species.
